Giurgiu Mayoralty organized on 4.04.2014, an event in one shop for electric household appliances, under the logo: Working with the citizens and the stakeholders. This event was aimed at awareness’ raising with respect to the information the consumers can get in shops, regarding the annual costs with energy consumption of electric appliances and to choose these products in a sustainable way. Under Green Twinning project’s umbrella, this action was the synergy between GT project and other 3 IEE projects: YAECI, Buy Smart+ and EUROTOPTEN MAX. The partner shop was R’ART Giurgiu. Participants at the event: consumers, mayoralty representatives, media, learned how important are the information regarding consumption and costs and how to use EU labels and information for sustainable local development and for their “incomes”.
The Final Conference “Green Twinning: Municipalities together for smart and sustainable energy solutions” was organised on 20 March 2014 in the Committee of the Regions in Brussels.
The conference presented the main results of the two-year cooperation among 10 partners, regarding the development and implementation of Sustainable Energy Action Plans. On 18th and 19th February 2013, a technical meeting was held in Rubí (Spain) among Kardzhali and the host municipality in the framework of the Green Twinning project. These twinning counterparts carried out a two-days meeting including technical visits to public buildings showing energy efficiency refurbishment best practices and a project to improve the energy efficiency of local industrial sector. Furthermore, representatives of both municipalities formally signed their twinning Memorandum of Agreement.
